During the 9th, 10th and 11th of October 2020, Laurel hosted an open studio event in collaboration with Art Oost, to present the new location of the project space, together with the current studio residents in the East of Amsterdam. On the 9th and 10th, Moa Holgersson performed ‘Call’, live in the upstairs project space. The project space also displayed Laurel’s communal research about the history of the building, in the form of sourced archival footage and sound. On Sunday 11th October, Wjm Kok, visual artist and teacher at the Fine Arts Department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, organised a reading group which read extracts from the book “Art as Art: the selected writings of Ad Reinhardt”. www.artoost.amsterdam
